Dillard’s signs on as major anchor for Summerlin mall
as a major anchor at The Shops at Summerlin, the unfinished shopping mall being developed by The Howard Hughes Corp. near the Las Vegas Beltway and Charleston Boulevard.
In September, Hughes Corp. announced that Macy's had signed an agreement to become the first anchor tenant, confirming that construction would resume on the project in late 2013.
Dillard's will build a two-level, 200,000-square-foot store at the mall, with an opening scheduled for fall 2014. It will be the fourth Dillard's store in Las Vegas.
"This premier location will allow us to serve our Las Vegas customers at an even higher level, and we are pleased to underscore our long-standing commitment to the Las Vegas market," Dillard's Chief Executive Officer William Dillard II said in a statement.
The Shops at Summerlin will have more than 125 stores and restaurants and will be part of a mixed-use development with retail, entertainment, office, hotel and multifamily residential. The 106-acre development will also include a nine-story office building.
