"Pete the Cat" author tour: "Pete the Cat" author and musician Eric Litwin is set to bring his musical stories to several local libraries in November, with stops scheduled from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Nov. 19 at the West Las Vegas Library, 951 W. NaNoWriMo: The Writer's Block plans to welcome National Novel Writing Month participants for NaNoWriMo Write-Ins from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Sundays in November. Every year, aspiring writers push toward a goal of writing a 50,000-word novel through the month of November, ending at 11:59 p.m. Nov. 30. The downtown bookstore also plans to host NaNoWriMo critique sessions from 3 to 5 p.m. Sundays, and free NaNoWriMo workshops from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays.
