Driver killed, passenger hurt in rollover near Lake Mead

One person died and another was injured Sunday night when the vehicle they were in rolled over near Lake Mead, the National Park Service reported.

The wreck happened about 6 p.m. on Northshore Road at mile marker 23. The driver, who was not identified, died at the scene. The passenger was transported via helicopter to a hospital.

Witnesses reported that the vehicle was heading north when the driver tried to pass another vehicle in a no-passing zone, officials said. The vehicle rolled three times.
