Fundraiser
St. Simeon Serbian Orthodox Church will host a fundraiser Thursday for victims of flooding in the Balkans.
The event will begin at 7 p.m. in the St. Simeon church hall, 3950 S. Jones Blvd.
The flooding — caused by storms that last week dumped about three months’ worth of rain on Serbia, Bosnia and Croatia over a matter of just days — has been called the worst to hit the region in decades. The flooding has left at least 35 people dead and forced tens of thousands of people from their homes.
