Henderson woman killed while walking across street identified

The Clark County coroner’s office has identified the Henderson woman struck and killed by an SUV while she was walking across the street Saturday evening.

Yvonne Arleen Harris died from blunt force trauma from a motor vehicle versus a pedestrian, the coroner’s office said.

Harris tried to cross Lake Mead Parkway at Taylor Street and was hit by a Ford Expedition.

She died at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center.

Henderson police believe the 39-year-old woman used a crosswalk but was crossing against the signals.

The 27-year-old driver of the Ford Expedition was not hurt and submitted to blood testing to determine if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash. Police said they did not believe the driver was speeding.
