House destroyed, dog killed in early morning fire
March 1, 2013 - 1:59 am
An early morning house fire Thursday near Hualapai Way and Patrick Lane has left a family without a home and their pet.
Just after 1 a.m., firefighters responded to 10144 Willowbrook Pond Road, where they were met with heavy smoke and fire spewing from the single-story house. According to Clark County Fire officials, the fire started in the garage and was intensified by fuel from a vehicle inside the garage. The fire then quickly spread to the attic and roof.
Crews were able to completely knock down the fire after about 45 minutes, officials said.
While no people were injured, the family dog died in the blaze.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Damage from the fire was estimated at $250,000.
