Morning apartment fire displaces two

A fire at an apartment complex Friday morning displaced two people and caused $150,000 in damage.

Authorities said the fire started about 1 a.m. at the Paradise Spa complex at 9457 Las Vegas Blvd. South, in the southern valley.

Two apartments in Building 24 of the complex were on fire as Clark County firefighters arrived. Because of high winds, a second alarm was called.

One man was treated at the scene for minor injuries. One cat died in the fire.

Authorities also were able to revive one cat suffering from smoke inhalation with a special breathing mask designed for pets.

American Red Cross will assist the displaced residents, authorities said. The fire is under investigation
