A North Las Vegas man who was struck by a car in late February has died of injuries from the accident.
Andras Toth, 78, died in a rehabilitation center at Valley Hospital on June 2, according to North Las Vegas police.
Toth had almost finished crossing Las Vegas Boulevard North on Feb. 28 when the walk signal ended and northbound traffic was given a green light, police said. An 82-year-old man driving a 1985 Toyota Tercel drove through the intersection, striking Toth, who was still in the crosswalk.
Nevada law states that drivers must allow pedestrians to finish crossing the street if they start before a signal changes to "don't walk."
The driver was on drugs and prescription medication at the time, and investigators suspect he was at fault.
A request for charges against him for Toth's death will be submitted to the district attorney after the investigation is completed.
