Pedestrian, 15, dies after Saturday accident in Henderson

A 15-year-old boy running across a street was struck by a car Saturday and died Sunday, Henderson police said.

Clark County coroner's officials have not released the official cause and manner of death of Benjamin Yatsu of Austin, Texas.

The incident occurred about 12:30 p.m. Saturday on Eastern Avenue north of St. Rose Parkway. Police said the teen made it across the southbound lanes but then ran into the path of a car in the northbound lane and was hit. He was not in a crosswalk, police said.

He was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center and died Sunday.

The driver has not been charged in connection with the collision, but an investigation is ongoing.
