Woman dies in Las Vegas beltway accident

A 32-year-old Las Vegas woman was killed after losing control of her Ford Explorer on the Las Vegas Beltway on Friday afternoon, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

She was taken to University Medical Center, where she died of her injuries.

The accident occurred at 1:05 p.m. as she reportedly was driving in the middle, southbound lane of the highway, said Loy Hixson, a public information officer with the highway patrol.

"She lost control, went off the right, then was ejected," he said, adding he was not sure whether the woman was wearing a seat belt.
