RENO — The U.S. Geological Survey says two magnitude 3.1 earthquakes recently shook the Reno area.
The Nevada Seismological Laboratory at the University of Nevada, Reno, says the epicenter was about 3.7 miles north-northeast of Galena High School.
The USGS says the quakes hit around noon and 1 p.m. Sunday.
Reno police and fire department officials say there were no immediate reports of injuries or damage.
For roadside emergencies, the public is asked to call 911 and request Nevada Highway Patrol emergency assistance.
The Cottonwod Peak Fire started August 15. The fire has grown to nearly 132,000 acres and is at 18% containment.
