A motorcycle rider was killed in a Saturday afternoon crash on state Route 160, troopers said.
The crash happened about 1:15 p.m. in the southbound lanes near mile marker 19, just past Mountain Springs, Nevada Highway Patrol trooper Jason Buratczuk said. The 2006 Harley Davidson went down for an unknown reason. Its rider died at the scene.
Buratczuk said a witness told troopers the man was speeding before the crash.
The southbound lanes were closed. Traffic in both directions was temporarily using the northbound travel lanes, the Highway Patrol said. Expect delays while troopers investigate.
The Clark County coroner’s office will identify the motorcycle rider once his next of kin is notified.
