Transit commission unanimously adopts new bid process for buses

Bidding on a new bus contract can get under way after more than a year of delays thanks to a unanimous decision by the Regional Transportation Commission on Thursday. The board, which had deadlocked on votes on a $600 million fixed-route contract, agreed to a new bidding process that will start July 10.

Vermillion files defamation suit against leader of charity she founded

Former Henderson City Councilwoman Kathleen Vermillion has filed a defamation lawsuit against the leader of the homeless youth charity she founded, saying he lied about her and damaged her reputation.
