We’ve all heard the lawyer jokes. But how about the other side of the coin? How about a story that talks about the good things that lawyers do? About how they give of themselves to help others? Lawyers such as those offering pro bono work at the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada.
Event highlights this week in Paradise and downtown include the Suite Holidays Junior Achievement of Southern Nevada gala event, Las Vegas Academy’s dance drama “Touched,” Ward 5’s Christmas tree lighting ceremony and the free lunchtime concert featuring the Firenze Sextet.
“The Candy Store at the Edge of the Galaxy” is a book packed with 12 poems and illustrations intended for the young and young at heart. The book is the brainchild of self-described scribbler Aleza Freeman and her doodling husband, Howard. Her background is in journalism and copywriting, and his is in mural art and illustration.
