20-year-old motorcyclist killed in collision near Lamb and Owens

A 20-year-old Las Vegas man riding a motorcycle died Friday night after a Nissan pickup struck him near Lamb Boulevard and Owens Avenue, Las Vegas police said.

Police identified the motorcyclist who died at the scene as Darius Turner. They identified the 51-year-old driver of the 2004 Nissan Titan as Manuel Espinoza of Las Vegas.

Police said Turner was riding a 2001 Suzuki motorcycle north on Lamb Boulevard around 6 p.m. near the intersection with Van Buren Avenue. The Titan was traveling south on Lamb and attempted to make a left turn onto Van Buren as Turner's motorcycle entered the intersection.

The Titan struck the left side of the motorcycle.

The collision remains under investigation. It was the 33rd traffic fatality of the year under the jurisdiction of Las Vegas police.
