Angle camp backtracks on Sunday show

WASHINGTON -- The campaign of Nevada Senate candidate Sharron Angle was forced to backtrack on Friday after saying she was going to appear on a marquee news show this Sunday.

Amid the media attention rushing to the Reno Republican after she won the endorsement of the Tea Party Express organization, her campaign manager Jerry Stacy said Thursday that Angle was remaining in Washington for media interviews and to appear on Fox News Sunday.

On Friday, Stacy amended that after a reporter's query. He said Angle will not appear on Fox News Sunday, which is hosted by Chris Wallace, but rather will be interviewed on another Fox News Channel show.

Stacy said he was not sure what happened. He said a Fox News Channel producer had contacted Angle to arrange for several interviews. She appeared Friday on the Fox and Friends network morning show. "Things are moving so fast," Stacy said. "They may have been trying to get her on Chris Wallace."

The Fox News Sunday website shows Sunday's guests will be Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., and Gen. Ray Odierno, the commander of U.S. troops in Iraq.
