Attorney general asks court to intervene in Krolicki case

The state attorney general's office today asked the Nevada Supreme Court to throw out a judge's decision to disqualify the agency from prosecuting Lt. Gov. Brian Krolicki in a misappropriation of funds case.
In a request filed with the court, the attorney generals' office stated that District Judge Elissa Cadish "manifestly abused" her discretion when she ruled on May 19 that the attorney general's office couldn't prosecute Krolicki.
Krolicki is charged with felony misappropriation of funds in connection with the state's college savings program, which he oversaw as treasurer. Krolicki argued that the attorney general couldn't prosecute him because of the agency previously provided advice to him on contracts related to the $3.3 billion program. All of the funds were accounted for.
