Blue Man Group making a move

This one came out of the blue, and it couldn't have been a bigger hint.

Blue lights began illuminating the Monte Carlo on Tuesday night, teasing what will be made official today: The Blue Man Group is coming.

Look for an announcement today that the move will come at the end of 2012.

Word leaked Wednesday when the website VegasChatter.com reported that the Blue Man Group Insiders Facebook page ran a photo of the Monte Carlo bathed in blue.

BMG has been at The Venetian since October 2005 after a five-year run at Luxor, where they made their Las Vegas debut.

Impressionist Frank Caliendo ends a 16-month resident headliner engagement on April 30. His Monte Carlo show, which was to end its 15-month run March 12, has been extended through April 30.

The dance crew Jabbawockeez has shared the Monte Carlo Theater with Caliendo since October and is likely to be extended, a source said.

The showroom would have to be revamped for the Blue Man Group. It holds 1,200 seats.

TEBOW'S VEGAS VACATION

What brought straight-laced Tim Tebow to the bright lights of Las Vegas for the first time?

The Denver Broncos quarterback was doing a Nike photo shoot at the Palms that also involved Adrian Peterson of the Minnesota Vikings, All-Pro cornerback Darrelle Revis of the New York Jets and Ndamukong Suh, the Detroit Lions star rookie defensive tackle.

They played basketball in the Hardwood Suites at the Palms, one of several locations of the shoot. Tebow, whose parents spent time as Christian missionaries, also tried his hand at a table game, but not the kind that's covered with green felt. He played pingpong against a professional after a session of the World Championship of Ping Pong ended in The Pearl, the Palms' concert venue.

From there it was off to N9NE Steakhouse, where they had dinner with Nike executives.

Tebow loved chef Barry Dakake's mini Mac and Cheese bites so much, he had three orders before his bone-in filet arrived. All four then went to the kitchen to sign helmets, footballs, jerseys and N9NE Steakhouse dinner plates.

THE SCENE AND HEARD

For the third year in a row, Sports Illustrated returns to Las Vegas with nearly 20 models from the swimsuit edition. They'll fly in early Wednesday, after the cover girl is revealed in New York City, and will fly out Friday after appearances and events at participating resorts. Last year, southbound traffic on the Strip was briefly stopped for a re-creation of the Beatles' iconic Abbey Road crossing, involving all 18 models.
