Boy, 14, killed in collision; dad, another man injured

KNGMAN, Ariz. -- A teenager was killed and two adults were injured in a two-vehicle collision about 7:45 p.m. Tuesday on Interstate 40 in Kingman, Ariz.

Paul Granata, 48, of Gold Canyon and his son Nicolas, 14, were westbound in a Toyota pickup that was towing another vehicle, the Arizona Department of Public Safety said. Granata lost control of the pickup, and the assembly separated after it hit a guardrail, the agency said.

The pickup ended up back in the westbound lanes, where it was broad-sided by a GMC Yukon SUV driven by David Munoz, 44, of Las Vegas. Nicolas Granata was fatally injured in the crash.

Paul Granata and Munoz were taken to Kingman Regional Medical Center, where they were treated for minor injuries and released.
