Collision kills two women on state Route 160

Two women were killed Sunday in a head-on collision on state Route 160 about one mile west of state Route 159.

Witnesses said the driver of a white GMC Yukon, identified as 39-year-old Gail Miller, crossed the center line and was passing cars at a high rate of speed.

Nevada Highway Patrol spokesman Kevin Honea said Miller, of Las Vegas, was driving out of control when she struck the front of the second woman's Dodge pickup about 6:30 p.m. Sunday.

The two women, who were alone in the vehicles, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The identity of the second woman has not yet been released by the Clark County coroner's office.
