Commissioner to hold Spanish-speaking town hall meeting

Clark County Commissioner Lawrence Weekly is making efforts to reach out to the Hispanic community, holding a Spanish-speaking town hall meeting from 6 to 7 p.m. today inside the commission chambers.

Representatives from several divisions, including business licensing, code enforcement and animal control will join Weekly in discussing county services and residents' concerns.

The commissioner and department representatives will have Spanish-speaking interpreters to help facilitate the meeting.

"Our diversity is one of the attributes that makes our country and our community so great," Weekly said. "But sometimes important questions and information get lost in translation. This meeting will give our residents who are most comfortable communicating in Spanish the opportunity to hear first hand from those providing county services."

The commission chambers are inside the Clark County Government Center, 500 S. Grand Central Parkway.
