Coroner IDs pedestrian struck, killed in accident
A 77-year-old man killed by a suspected drunken driver Saturday was identified Tuesday as Lloyd Davis of Las Vegas.
Davis, who Las Vegas police said was jaywalking on Fremont Street near Charleston Boulevard, died from multiple injuries after being struck by a motor vehicle, according to the Clark County coroner's office.
Eduardo Mendez, 38, was heading south in the right lane of Fremont about 8 p.m. Saturday when his vehicle struck Davis, police said. Davis was pronounced dead at the scene.
Mendez was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and booked into the Las Vegas Detention Center.
