Danza, Anderson worry about fires

Las Vegas headliners Tony Danza and Pamela Anderson are on high alert as worst-in-decades fires near Malibu, Calif., threaten scores of homes.

Danza, who is the featured star of Mel Brooks' "The Producers" at Paris Las Vegas, told the show's publicist, Tanesa Whiting, that he has "been glued to the TV coverage and hoping everything is going to turn out for the best."

Anderson, who plays a magician's assistant in illusionist Hans Klok's "The Beauty of Magic" at Planet Hollywood Resort, has lived in Malibu since 2001, when she purchased a home there for $1.8 million.

Singing legend Robert Goulet is in critical condition in Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles and needs a lung transplant, it was announced Monday. Goulet, 73, has been hospitalized for 22 days in Las Vegas and Los Angeles with interstitial pulmonary fibrosis, which was described as "a rare but rapidly progressive and fatal condition."

He was moved from Las Vegas after 12 days after it was determined "that without an emergency lung transplant he would not survive," according to the release. Goulet, aware that a lung transplant is necessary, "has stated on several occasions to his doctors and to his wife (Vera), "Hey, let's go, give me a new pair of lungs and I'll hit the high notes till I'm 100."

Deejay Duke Morgan of KJUL-FM 104.7 is playing Robert Goulet songs every hour of his show, from 3 to 7 p.m., as a gesture to honor his ailing friend. ...

Paris and Nicky Hilton will co-host New Year's Eve and lead the countdown at the Luxor's new hotspot, LAX, it was announced Monday. Britney Spears hosted the grand opening of LAX in late August. ...

E! Entertainment is in town this week, shooting segments for a show titled "Sexiest Vegas Jobs." Also on the shoot list: Stripper 101 at V Theatre (Planet Hollywood Resort), Rio Secco's girl caddies and the Playboy Club's Bunnies. ...

Lunch with burlesque icon Tempest Storm went for a high bid of $1,000 at the 17th annual Child Advocacy Recognition Dinner on Saturday at The Venetian. Still saucy at 80, she told me two years ago, "I'm old enough for Medicare and young enough for men to care."...

Correction: Jean-David Daudet and his wife, Lee Ann Groff-Daudet, are joining longtime owner Georges La Forge as co-owners of Pamplemousse le Restaurant. La Forge, the original owner, continues to hold an ownership position.
