Democrats repost Angle’s old website

The Nevada Democratic Party posted a duplicate of Sharron Angle's old website Tuesday after the GOP Senate candidate threatened to sue Sen. Harry Reid's campaign for illegally using its content.

The Reid campaign had taken down its fake Angle website after receiving a cease and desist letter from his Republican opponent's campaign. But Reid spokesman Jon Summers said that after a legal review, the campaign felt it was on "solid ground" for the website to be reposted by the party. The site, therealsharronangle.com, includes some of Angle's more controversial views, such as closing the U.S. Department of Education and developing Yucca Mountain.

Angle's old website posted by the Democratic Party appeared to no longer allow people to enter personal information. The Angle campaign accused Reid of trying to collect such data, which Summers denied. Her new website is sharronangle.com

Angle spokesman Jerry Stacy said he thought it was "bizarre that Harry Reid and his surrogates would work so hard to promote her views," which he contended most Nevadans agree with.

"Harry Reid is a desperate man who is down in the polls and all he can do is hide behind these websites and attack ads," Stacy said in a statement. "But if he really cared about Nevada he would quit hiding and agree to debate on the real issues that matter to Nevada."

Angle has repeatedly challenged Reid to debate, but so far he has not accepted.
