District Attorney Roger played role in Japan’s decision to ban Hilton

The district attorney’s office this week found itself in the middle of the international brouhaha over Paris Hilton.

It turns out that Japanese officials asked District Attorney David Roger for a copy of his drug plea deal with Hilton before they decided to ban her from entering the country.

Obliging the request, Roger’s office sent the Japanese consulate in San Francisco a copy of the misdemeanor agreement.

Hilton later canceled her tour of Asia and returned to the United States.
