Duplex fire forces seven people from their homes

A duplex fire in the southwest valley forced seven people from their homes Tuesday afternoon.

Clark County firefighters responded to 4433 Via Madrigal Way, near Interstate 15 and Flamingo Road, just after 2:30 p.m.

A fire had started outside, fire chief Eric Newman said, and was spread by the wind into the attic area of the house. At 5 p.m., fire crews were still there cleaning up the area.

The Red Cross responded to the scene and reported helping seven occupants from the fire.
