Expect clouds, wind and maybe rain in the Valley Saturday

A quick moving weather system is making its way through the Las Vegas Valley and another, colder system is expected to hit just in time for Christmas, according to the National Weather Service.

Saturday is expected to have a high of 59 degrees and a low of 42. The current weather system should cause increased cloud coverage in the afternoon and winds and a 20 percent chance of rain in the evening, according to meteorologist Chad Shafer.

Sunday and Monday will have highs of 55 and lows in the upper 30s.

A second weather system is expected to hit the valley right around Christmas Day, Shafer said. This system is stronger and less predictable than the current system, he added.

The weather service has more uncertainty than normal for a storm this far out and is unable to determine specific details. However, they do know that the chance for rain goes up, temperatures are expected to drop as much as 10 degrees Christmas day and winds will be over 20 mph, Shafer said.

When asked about chances for a white Christmas, Shafer said he "can't rule it our entirely because it is a pretty cold system, but it's not likely."
