A new office building for Immigration and Customs Enforcement will be built downtown at Las Vegas Boulevard and Clark Street on land owned by the city of Las Vegas redevelopment agency.
The General Services Administration recently awarded a bid for the five-story, 58,900-square-foot building to Steve Biagotti, who developed the City Center Apartments downtown. He will buy the property for $2.7 million, build the office space and lease it to the federal government.
Construction is to begin in August and last for a year. The project will create 250 construction jobs and bring 150 permanent jobs downtown, according to city documents. The property just south of the Lloyd George Federal Building now is a parking lot.
The Las Vegas City Council approved the sale Wednesday.
