Fire in cockpit of small plane extinguished quickly

A small airplane caught fire at McCarran International Airport Wednesday morning.

Airport officials received a call around 5:30 a.m. about a small fire burning in the cockpit of a private plane, according to McCarran spokesman Chris Jones.

The Hawker was on the ground when the fire broke out and crews were able to extinguish it quickly, Jones said.

Traffic was not affected by the fire and no one was injured.
