Five students injured when school bus collides with car

Five Valley High School students suffered minor injuries this morning in an accident when the school bus they were riding in collided with a car near the intersection of Karen and Eastern avenues, Las Vegas police said.

Police say the driver of the school bus nicked the car while turning into the parking lot of Valley High school around 7:50 a.m.

Five of the 67 students on board were taken to a local hospital for minor injuries, Las Vegas police spokeswoman Barbara Morgan said.

The driver of the bus was cited for unsafe turning movement. Traffic on southbound Eastern Avenue is open after the delay.
