Florida teen shot, killed in movie theater parking lot

BRADENTON, Fla. — A 17-year-old girl has been found dead after a shooting at a movie theater in Bradenton.

Witnesses say Teria’le Rawls was shot early Monday morning during a fight in the parking lot of the Royal Palm Theater, south of St. Petersburg in Manatee County.

The victim was pronounced dead just after 2:00 a.m. when the car that was rushing her to a hospital in nearby Sarasota was pulled over.

The scene of the shooting has a history of violence. On Christmas night 2010, Manatee County deputies had to call in back-up to quell a near-riot when they arrested five people.

No arrests have been made in connection with Monday’s shooting. The investigation is continuing.
