Hit-and-run suspects ID’d

Two suspects have been identified in a Dec. 30 fatal hit-and-run involving a car and bicycle.

On Wednesday, Raul Rodriguez, 26, and Robert Melillo, 45, were identified in photo lineups as the two suspects in the death of Steven Olsen, according to Las Vegas police.

Rodriguez later was arrested and the vehicle involved in the incident was located, police said.

According to police, 51-year-old Olsen was involved in a confrontation at the Dew Drop Inn, 4200 Boulder Highway, near South Lamb Boulevard, with Rodriguez and Melillo.

The confrontation escalated and moved to the parking lot. Olsen eventually went back inside, while the two suspects remained outside.

As Olsen left on his bicycle, the men got into Rodriguez's 1998 Chevrolet Lumina.

The car struck Olsen and sped away, police said.

Olsen was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center where he died.
