Horsford released from hospital after bypass surgery

WASHINGTON — Rep. Steven Horsford was released from the hospital Friday and is recuperating at home from heart bypass surgery, according to his office.

Horsford updated his Facebook page to thank people for their support and to report he was “happy to be recovering at home,” which is in Arlington, Va.

The Nevada Democrat, 40, underwent heart bypass surgery at an undisclosed hospital in the Washington area on Monday.

A routine physical exam turned up an undisclosed problem stemming from a “hereditary condition” that doctors said required nonelective surgery.

Horsford will remain at home for the next few weeks, and doctors expect a full recovery, according to his office.
