Hyundai’s trade-in deal fits Las Vegan

Ginger Dearing needed a car badly in October. Her 1997 Ford Contour had 162,000 miles on it and had seen better days.
Enter Planet Hyundai Sahara sales consultant Brian Williams, who found Dearing a 2013 Hyundai Accent hatchback. Now she no longer has to worry about being able to get from one place to another.
“I really had a tough time getting someone to finance me,” Dearing said. “Brian knew that I needed a car very badly, and when the dealership ran the Cash for Clunkers program, he knew it fit my own situation.”
Williams knew the Cash for Clunkers program was perfect and worked the deal so that Dearing could get enough money for the trade-in. He called his customer, and before long, she had a new vehicle with the best warranty in the country along with the peace of mind in knowing her new Hyundai would perform well.
“I was a nervous wreck driving my old clunker around town,” Dearing said. “I was certain I would lose money on my old clunker, but Brian and the people at Planet Hyundai really helped get everything done.
“Brian said if I could get to the dealership, he’d have me a car that day — and that’s exactly what he did. Before 10 that night, I was driving off with my brand new car.”
Except for a short stint back in her home state of Lousiana, Dearing has lived in Las Vegas since 1969.
“The first week, I put 800 miles on the car because I was so happy to have a car that was dependable,” she said. “It’s a fun car to drive, too. It fits me perfectly.”
Dearing was ecstatic about her purchase and even told Williams in a text, “It is a miracle for me, thanks to you.”
The fact that the Accent gets good gas mileage is even better news for Dearing.
“I got a little over 28 miles to the gallon around town,” she said. “It’s going to get about 38 miles to the gallon on the highway.”
Williams, a veteran who served 12 years in the U.S. Navy, said the finalized transaction had the entire dealership happy.
“Ginger is such a sweet person,” he said. “She really needed a car, and it is sales like these that make the job worth it, that’s for sure.”
Planet Hyundai co-owner Ron Coury added, “So many people in today’s economy have struggled with replacing their current vehicle. We are offering top dollar for trades, as Ginger experienced.
“In other customer’s cases, a bad mark on their otherwise great credit history has many believing there’s no way they can qualify for a new car. That is where we have the opportunity to do our job with the variety of lenders we work with. We can often pleasantly surprise many customers when we get them in a new Hyundai with terms they never thought possible.
“Whether you think you have trade-in or credit problem, customers should stop into Planet Hyundai or our Northwest location, Centennial Hyundai, and give our staff a chance at customizing a deal for them. They certainly couldn’t leave any worse off and just might be surprised what we can accomplish for them.”
Each new Hyundai comes with a 10-year, 100,000-mile power train warranty along with a five-year, 60,000-mile, bumper-to-bumper warranty. Located at 7150 W. Sahara Ave., Planet Hyundai is part of a locally owned and operated group of dealerships that also includes Planet Hyundai Used Car Super Store at 7100 W. Sahara Ave. and Centennial Hyundai at 6200 Centennial Center Blvd. in the northwest valley.
