I-215 road work near airport to cause delays

Attention, commuters: Your life is about to get messed up.

If you use the airport connector on Interstate 215, you might want to find a new way to work for the next couple of weeks.

Repaving work on the 215 Beltway between Interstate 15 and Windmill Lane will disrupt traffic beginning at 9 a.m. today. It’ll run through Oct. 26.

Westbound traffic will be reduced to two lanes from three. This should last through Saturday.

Then, starting Monday, Oct. 21, eastbound traffic will be reduced to two lanes through Saturday, Oct. 26.

Onramps and offramps in the area will also be affected at various times.

Because that stretch of road already gets backed up during rush hour, it would be a good idea to find an alternate route.

Clark County officials said the new asphalt will be laid during warmer daytime hours. It will be allowed to cure and new striping will be put on overnight.

The work is part of a larger project that includes widening this section of the 215 Beltway and the bridges over Paradise Road, Warm Springs Road, Robindale Road, Duck Creek and the Airport Connector. The project should be finished by January.
