24-YEAR-OLD KILLED
'Person of interest' sought in June slaying
Las Vegas police on Monday identified a "person of interest" in the slaying of a 24-year-old man whose body was found in the northwest valley earlier this month.
Police are searching for 37-year-old Antoine Evans. Evans is described by police as standing 6 feet tall and weighing about 180 pounds. He has black hair, brown eyes and has a tattoo of a cross on his right shoulder. He is missing his left middle finger, police said.
Police said Evans might have information on the death of Wyatt Marcell King of North Las Vegas. King, who died from multiple gunshot wounds, was found on the street in the 3800 block of Aspen Cove Street, near Alexander Road and the Las Vegas Beltway.

Bicyclist killed after being hit by SUV
A bicyclist died Monday afternoon after he was struck by a Chevrolet Suburban and dragged about 10 feet near Desert Inn and Sandhill Roads, Las Vegas police said.
The driver of the Suburban, 50-year-old Charlie Matanza of Las Vegas, was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence, police said.
Police did not release the name of the deceased man, but said he was a 43-year-old Las Vegan.
Police spokesman Ramon Denby said the bicyclist somehow became entangled within the Suburban's undercarriage. The bicyclist was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
The accident occurred about 3:14 p.m.
Police said Matanza was westbound on Desert Inn from Sandhill when his car went up on the north sidewalk and struck the bicyclist.

Motorcyclist, 47, dies after being hit by SUV
A 47-year-old motorcyclist from Pahrump died early Monday after being struck by a woman who might have been driving under the influence on state Route 160, Nevada Highway Patrol officials said.
Trooper Kevin Honea identified the deceased man as Randy Harris. He said the collision occurred about 4:30 a.m. on Blue Diamond Road near El Capitan Way.
Honea said a 27-year-old woman driving a Mazda Tribute hit Harris while she was attempting to turn south onto El Capitan.
Harris was thrown from his motorcycle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Honea said the woman failed a field sobriety test and was booked into the Clark County Detention Center. He said the results of the woman's drug tests are pending and that her name will be released at a later time.

Boy Scout leader dies during rafting trip
A 50-year-old Boy Scout leader has died during a troop rafting trip on a popular whitewater stretch of the Snake River in Wyoming.
Craig McCuistion of Rexburg, Idaho, drowned Friday after being thrown from the raft when it hit a rapid known as Three Oar Deal. McCuistion was leading a Boy Scout rafting trip with other adults.
Lincoln County Coroner Michael Richins said McCuistion was wearing a life jacket but was sucked under by a whirlpool.
