GOLDEN SHORES, ARIZ., KILLING
Roommate jailed on murder charge
Bond was set at $500,000 for a Norther Arizona man arrested Wednesday in the killing of his roommate a week ago. Richard Lee Knetzer, 61, was booked into the Mohave County jail in Kingman on charges of aggravated assault and second-degree murder.
Sheriff's spokeswoman Trish Carter said investigators believe an argument between Knetzer and James Barry Rogers, 45, escalated into a scuffle and gunfire Aug. 22. Carter said Rogers bled to death from a gunshot wound to his hand.
Carter said a period of time elapsed before Knetzer went to a Golden Shores neighbor to report there was a dead man on the floor of his home. She said the roommates had a history of arguing.
CLARK COUNTY
Conditions prompt air quality advisory
An air quality advisory is in effect through today for Clark County.
High pressure, humidity and rising temperatures combined with pollutants have prompted air quality officials to issue the advisory. Harmful levels of ozone aren't occurring but are possible.
Sensitive groups are encouraged to stay indoors and limit strenuous activity.
Ozone builds the most during afternoon hours, and air quality officials suggest avoiding activities that use or require gasoline, such as unnecessary driving or filling a gas tank.

DOWNTOWN RENO PARK
Two plead guilty to killing homeless man
Two men have pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter for stomping a homeless man to death in Reno in what a prosecutor called an alcohol-fueled "thrill seeking spree."
Christopher Michael Maciolek, 20, and Finley Byrdette Fultz, 19, face up to 10 years in prison when sentenced in October for the Sept. 3 beating death of James Markham Beasley.
Beasley, 55, was sleeping in Brick Park downtown when the pair screamed they were "Aryan soldiers" and kicked Beasley in the head.
"These are the nastiest kids I have dealt with, who go around hurting and beating people for some thrill," Deputy District Attorney Roy Stralla said Wednesday.
