Six children were treated for minor injuries Saturday after they were left alone in a car that rolled into traffic and got struck, police said.
The children, ranging from 2 years old to 8, were all treated at University Medical Center and released. Neither their identities nor those of the parents were released.
Police said the kids were left alone in a 2001 Chevrolet Suburban while their parents went inside a business in the 2700 block of South Rainbow Boulevard. Somehow, about 4:30 p.m., the Suburban rolled out of a driveway and into the street.
The driver of an oncoming 2006 Ford F-550, a large truck, tried to swerve, but struck the rear of the Suburban. The driver of the truck, Clifford Troxell, 53, was not injured.
