Lake Tahoe won’t be stocked with native trout this year

RENO -- Anglers hoping to land Lake Tahoe's only native trout may be out of luck this year.
After the lake was stocked with Lahontan cutthroat trout last year for the first time since the 1970s, the Nevada Department of Wildlife has no plans to follow suit this year.
Agency spokesman Chris Healy told the Tahoe Daily Tribune that last winter's unusually heavy snowpack prevented staff from reaching Marlette Lake in time to harvest eggs to grow the fish at a Yerington-area hatchery
