Lalande and Wranglers Silence Thunder 3-0

Stockton, CA — The Las Vegas Wranglers (33-9-7, 73 points) defeated the Stockton Thunder (19-26-3, 41 points) 3-0 at the Stockton Arena on Wednesday night. Goalie Kevin Lalande made 25 saves for his third shutout of the season, improving to 12-3-2 on the season. Forwards Adam Cracknell, Brandon Kaleniecki and Shawn Limpright each scored in the team’s fifth straight win. Las Vegas has now taken nine of the team’s last ten games. The Wranglers will return home to the Orleans Arena on Friday, February 15th and Saturday, February 16th at 7:05 pm to host Victoria.

After a scoreless first period, right wing Adam Cracknell rifled a slapshot past Stockton goalie Glenn Fisher at 16:45 for the 1-0 Las Vegas lead. Defenseman Aaron Power and left wing Bruce Mulherin each assisted on the power-play goal. Las Vegas continued their consistent play on the extra-man advantage, scoring for the ninth straight game.

In the third period, the Wranglers added to their lead with their second power-play goal of the night at 4:23. Left wing Shawn Limpright redirected a Jason Jozsa shot for his tenth goal of the season and a 2-0 Las Vegas lead. Brandon Kaleniecki scored his 13th goal of the season off a rebound at 9:37 for the 3-0 Las Vegas lead.

Las Vegas will return home to the Orleans Arena on Friday, February 15th and Saturday, February 16th at 7:05 pm to host Victoria. The Wranglers will host Bakersfield at 7:05 pm on Monday, February 18th to conclude a three-game home stand. Las Vegas will then embark on an 11-day road trip with three games in Alaska and Victoria.
