Las Vegas man charged with sex trafficking of 16-year-old

A Las Vegas man was indicted by a Clark County grand jury Friday on felony charges involving the sex trafficking of a 16-year-old girl, Nevada Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto announced.

Ian Lloyd, 32, was charged with one count of kidnapping in the first degree, one count of sex trafficking, one count of living from the earnings of a prostitute and two counts of child abuse and neglect.

“The sex trafficking of juveniles is a horrible crime,” Masto said in a news release. “This office will use all of the law enforcement tools at our disposal to prosecute cases of sex trafficking to the fullest extent of the law.”

Between July 26 and Aug. 30, Lloyd persuaded a 16-year-old girl from Ogden, Utah, to come to Las Vegas to engage in prostitution, according to the attorney general’s office.

Lloyd is alleged to have received all of the girl’s proceeds from prostitution and allowed his 3-year-old daughter to be present when he drove the 16-year-old to her prostitution activities.

This case investigated by the Metropolitan Police Department’s Child Exploitation Task Force and is being prosecuted by the attorney general’s office.

“This is another example of state and local law enforcement combining skills and resources to keep our community safe,” Las Vegas police spokesman Bill Cassell said. “The sexual exploitation and trafficking of children is among the most heinous of crimes. It will be the continued focus of all law enforcement.”
