Las Vegas man who died hiking in Red Rock area identified

A hiker who died after a possible medical episode Monday was identified by authorities Tuesday.

John Andrew Christensen, 52, of Las Vegas was hiking at Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area about 1:45 p.m. Monday when he fell in the Ice Box Canyon area.

Las Vegas police said the man had a medical issue.

The Clark County coroner’s office hasn’t yet determined Christensen’s cause of death.
