Las Vegas police find two bodies in suspected murder-suicide

Two bodies were found in northeast Las Vegas on Friday night in what police are calling a murder-suicide.

Las Vegas police responded to a desert area near Lake Mead Boulevard east of Hollywood Boulevard, where they discovered two bodies with gunshot wounds about 9:45 p.m.

The body of a 25-year-old Angel Omar Cruz was found lying outside of a vehicle. The body of a female, who was not immediately identified, was inside the vehicle.

Homicide detectives learned that a 911 call had been made earlier in the evening saying a woman was taken from her Steelhead Lane home by her ex-boyfriend.

Based on a preliminary investigation, detectives connected the two situations and suspect it was a murder-suicide related to a domestic issue. Cruz died of a gunshot wound to the chest, said the Clark County coroner’s office.

Anyone with information on this incident can call the Police Department’s homicide section at 702-828-3521. To remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555 or www.crimestoppersofnv.com.
