Las Vegas police: Friday shooting victim wasn’t dead after all
The victim of Las Vegas police’s 51st homicide investigation was not as dead as police said last week.
When Metro released information about a shooting that occurred in the central valley Friday night, they wrote that the identity of the victim, as well as the cause and manner of death, would be released by the Clark County coroner’s office.
The coroner’s office was not aware of the case over the weekend. The reason: He wasn’t dead.
Police found the man shot in the head lying between two vehicles. Metro spokesman Jesse Roybal said the man was expected to die, so information provided to news media was written as if he had.
The identity of the man still hadn’t been made public Monday afternoon.
Police believe the man was waiting for a family member in an apartment complex in the 3100 block of Chadford Place when he was shot. Two men were seen fleeing the scene.
