Current design trends in outdoor furniture include:

n Color. Outdoor furnishings are increasingly bolder and vibrant. Other colors used to dress up a space include pastel blues, turquoise, brown, fresh yellows, oranges and greens, as well as black and white.

n Material. With the advent of the outdoor room, the threshold separating indoors and outdoors has all but disappeared. Driving that concept are incredible advances in textiles, wood and metal finishing techniques and woven fiber technologies, which have yielded an incredible combination of durability and sophisticated design.

Modern-day patio furniture is designed to be as beautiful as it is sturdy and able to withstand the elements . Outdoor fabric offers luxurious textures once available only for indoor use.

Hand-wrought aluminum is lightweight and easy to move around. Teak has become very popular because it has the capacity to retain its good looks over a period of time. It is resistant to weathering, rot and requires very little maintenance. Wicker, a longtime favorite, still maintains its popularity for its classic look at affordable prices.
