Man arrested after woman stabbed at apartment complex

A man was arrested Sunday night after police said he stabbed a woman who was either his ex-girlfriend or ex-wife at an apartment complex on Pecos Road.

The woman, who called police after the 7:30 p.m. incident, was transported to University Medical Center with injuries that were not life-threatening, police said.

A SWAT team was sent to the complex in the 100 block of North Pecos Road after police believed the suspect, 32-year-old Nahun Rubi, was barricaded inside, according to police spokesperson Laura Meltzer.

The residents of the complex were evacuated and the streets near Pecos and Charleston Boulevard were closed from 7:30 p.m. until 12:30 a.m. as SWAT remained in the complex, Meltzer said.

Rubi, who police said did not live in the same apartment complex, was arrested at 11:41 p.m. in the 4800 block of East Sahara Avenue.

He was booked on one count of attempted murder and two counts of child endangerment.
