Man dies after crash on Strip

A 57-year-old man, who is suspected of having suffered a medical episode, crashed his vehicle into a guardrail Wednesday morning at the Imperial Palace casino and later died, Las Vegas police said.

The identity of the Las Vegas resident was not released by authorities.

Police said the man was driving a 1999 Nissan Frontier on a private drive at the hotel-casino's Strip property when he failed to maintain his travel lane. Police said the driver crossed into oncoming traffic and left the roadway, striking a metal guardrail.

He was pronounced dead at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center. His medical condition and the cause of death will be determined by the Clark County coroner's office.

The collision remains under investigation.
