Man dies after fight at Las Vegas bar

A Las Vegas man was arrested Monday in connection with the death of a man after an early morning bar fight, Las Vegas police said.

Luis Chavarin, 37, was arrested and booked into the Clark County Detention Center. He faces one count of open murder in the death of a man he fought with at the Loose Caboose bar near Flamingo Road and Arville Street.

When officers arrived at the scene about 4:20 a.m., they found one man unconscious and unresponsive. He was taken to University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, officials said.

Both men had been socializing at the bar before the fight, police said.

The Clark County coroner’s office will conduct an autopsy of the victim.

This is the sixth homicide within Las Vegas police jurisdiction in 2014.
