Man found shot to death after slamming door on police

SPARKS -- A man apparently killed himself after Sparks police arrived at a home to investigate a domestic violence report.

The Reno Gazette-Journal reported the incident happened Sunday night at a home on Lexington Way after a woman who lives there went to police headquarters to report being battered.

Officers went to speak to the man, who answered the door holding a handgun.

Police said after a brief conversation, the man slammed the door and officers heard what sounded like a gunshot.

The man was found dead after a search warrant was obtained and a SWAT team went inside.
