Man gets probation for sexual misconduct

KINGMAN, Ariz. -- A 19-year-old man from a northern Arizona community where polygamy is widely practiced received five years of probation for sexual misconduct with his 7-year-old sister.

Ezra Jessop, of Colorado City, was sentenced Tuesday by Mohave County Superior Court Judge Bob Moon.

Jessop pleaded guilty to attempted sexual conduct with a minor for behavior between December 2006, and late January 2007. The father of both the defendant and the victim told Moon that the family approved of the plea agreement and that his daughter is "doing well."

Moon also ordered Jessop to perform 500 hours of community service, undergo counseling and work toward a high school equivalency certificate.
